The annual FLG Lake Clean-Up will take place on Saturday, June 9th on Lake Glenville. Coffee, juice, and donuts will be provided at the takeout and a prize will be awarded for the most unique piece of trash collected! Volunteers are needed (see below). Please join us at the Powerhouse Boat Ramp at 9:30 am on Friday June 15, 2018 for the annual launching of the fish attractors on Lake Glenville.
No volunteers are needed this year but if you would like to see the fish attractors, please come down to the ramp and take a look! Personnel from the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission will be placing 13 new attractors in Lake Glenville this year. Happy Fishing!
Directions to Powerhouse Boat Ramp: From the main intersection of U.S. Hwy 64 & N.C. Hwy-107 in Cashiers, NC, go 6.4 miles on N.C. Hwy-107 North to a Left onto Pine Creek Road. Continue for 1.3 miles to a Left to boat ramp & dock access.
Our annual Lake Clean-Up is Saturday, June 22nd from 9am - 1pm, rain or shine.
Pick up your Captain’s Bucket with goodies and contractor bags from Shannon at Signal Ridge Marina by start of the Clean up.
Patrol the lake, pick up any trash, floating logs, dock”floats”, etc that you see. When you have a full load, bring it to the ramp nearest to the dam and Andrews Park. (Please note: this is a change from the Pine Creek Ramp, near Split Rail and past the public beach area, that had been previously advertised. See the image shown here for further clarification.) Volunteers will help you unload.Remember please that anything attached to the shoreline by roots etc, cannot be removed, per Duke Power rules and regulations governing the lake.
A wonderful lunch will be served to all participants immediately following the event, from 1-3 PM at the Glenville Lake Club’s lakeside pavilion. The Glenville Lake Club is located just off NC 107, near Bluegill Lane. Look for their sign. A volunteer will direct you where to park.
