2019 has been a great year for Friends of Lake Glenville, filled with many accomplishments, social activities, and fun on one of the most beautiful and pristine lakes in the country!
Some of our accomplishments:
- Our program to test the streams and waters of Lake Glenville continued with our Western Carolina University partnership and the results of the testing show that we have a healthy lake! You can review the quarterly reports here.
- We completed another successful Lake Cleanup in June and attracted new volunteers and sponsors who helped in this effort. The result was a record amount of trash, logs, and dock floats pulled from the lake and hauled away, making Lake Glenville safer and prettier than ever. The Lake Cleanup event for 2020 has already been scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2020. Mark your calendar and plan to come out and help next year!
- Our fish stocking program has continued, and in Spring 2020 we plan to co-sponsor a Fishing Contest with Signal Ridge Marina which should be fun for all!
- The Fireworks Over the Lake was spectacular this year and not a drop of rain to spoil the event! We have already scheduled the Fireworks for next year and they will be held on Friday July 3, 2020 to kick off another awesome holiday weekend at Lake Glenville.
