Resources for Property Owners, Visitors, and More

For Property Owners
There are simple steps property owners can take to protect Lake Glenville and the wildlife and plants in and around the lake.

Water Levels
Lake levels for Lake Glenville are lowered in the fall/winter months for a couple of reasons.

Wake Boat Legislation
The NC General Assembly has passed legislation restricting wake surfing on Lake Glenville within 200 feet of the shoreline or any structure, moored vessel, kayak canoe, paddleboard or swimmer.

Shoreline Dos & Donts
Duke Energy owns the property inside what is known as the 3110 line or “project boundary”. The 3110 line distance from the shoreline will vary depending on the slope of the property.

Dam Releases
The Federal Energy Regulation Commission (FERC)’s license to Duke to generate hydroelectric power from Lake Glenville requires a recreation water release from the Glenville Dam.

Beach Access
Currently open only through the summer season starting Memorial Day weekend, the Lake Glenville Pine Creek Access area features a swimming beach, picnic area, and fishing pier.
